Overcoming Fear

Overcoming Fear: Unleashing the Empowering Promises of God for Success and Perseverance

by M. Karshna

Life can be challenging, and at times we may feel overwhelmed with the fear of failing. We may doubt our abilities, question our decisions, and wonder if we are capable of achieving our goals. In such times, it is essential to remember that we have a God who is faithful and always keeps His promises. In this blog post, we will explore three promises that God makes to us when we are afraid of failing, and we can see then that these promises show that failure is not even close to us—it is in fact the opposite.

Let's Pray

Dear Lord, we come to You with our heavy hearts, our feelings of fear for the unknown, and our worries about the future. We pray for Your guidance and strength to help us overcome our fears and believe in your promises. Amen.

Overcoming Fear | God’s Promises when You are Afraid of Failing

  • Promise 1: God will never leave us nor forsake us.
  • Promise 2: God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness.
  • Promise 3: God has a plan for our lives.

Promise 1: God will never leave us nor forsake us. When we are afraid of failing, it is easy to feel alone and isolated. We may believe that no one understands our struggles or can help us overcome our fears. However, God promises to never leave us nor forsake us, and that He will always be with us, even in our darkest moments. In the book of Joshua, God assures Joshua, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Joshua 1:5). This promise is not only for Joshua but for all of us. God is faithful to His promises and will always be by our side, no matter what we may be facing. What may appear as failure to us is just a piece of the plan for success that He has in
the making.

Promise 2: God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness. It is natural to feel weak and inadequate when facing challenges or uncertainty. However, God promises that His strength is made perfect in our weakness. In 2 Corinthians 12:9, God says to Paul, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” Paul replies to God in the next part of the verse, “So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me” (NLT). This means that when we feel weak or inadequate, we can rely on God's strength to carry us through. We can pray for God's strength and guidance, and He will provide us with the necessary resources and support to help us succeed. We must trust in God's promise that His strength is enough to help us overcome our fears and achieve our goals that are aligned with His will.

Promise 3: God has a plan for our lives. When we are afraid of failing, we may question our purpose and wonder if we are on the right path. However, God promises that He has a plan for our lives and that His plans are for our good and not for harm. In Philippians 1:6, it says, “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns” (NLT). We can trust in God's plan for our lives and have faith that He will guide us towards our purpose. We must seek His will and trust in His timing, knowing that His plans are always for our good. Even if we never see the good work He began in us, it will most certainly come to pass.

Overcoming Fear | Conclusion

When we are afraid of failing, it can be easy to lose hope and give up. However, as Christians, we can trust in God's promises and have faith that He will guide us towards our purpose. We must remember that God will never leave us nor forsake us, that His strength is made perfect in our weakness, and that He has a plan for our lives. Let us rely on God's promises and trust in His guidance to help us overcome our fears and achieve our goals.

Let's Pray

Dear Lord, we thank You for Your promises that provide us with hope and strength to overcome our fears. We pray that You will help us to trust in Your faithfulness and rely on Your strength to guide us through life's challenges. Amen.
